After getting our spawn safely to bed, I decided to sit down and post something...anything, just to get rid of that black hole on my front page.
The big news today was the Red Sox winning and Dale Earnhardt Jr. getting fined and penalized 25 points, costing him the championship lead.
Just so you know, I am a huge sports fan. I hate professional baseball for the most part thanks to Bud "the weasel" Selig, and that's sad. It used to be my favorite sport. But after the 2001 season, I could take no more, so I started boycotting baseball. Sportscenter highlights were my only exposure to it.
But then, the Sox (my favorite team with my favorite stadium) made their run last year, and I started peaking. Just a pitch here and there, but I was looking.
Then, without warning, Grady Little decided to throw the series by leaving Pedro in, and the Yankees won in devastating fashion. I was crushed by baseball again.
Now, the Sox look strong and the Yanks look vulnerable. I want to peak again. Trouble is, the Cardinals look awesome. I can't take another nut punch by baseball right now, so I'm not sure what I will do. (I will probably still peak).
Junior's penalty is the right thing based on what NASCAR's done in the past, but it's the wrong thing. It's NBC's fault it made the air at all, since everyone with a tv camera insisted they'd be using a delay after boobi-gate earlier this year.
Junior got fined ten grand. I wonder what NBC's fine will be for letting the dreaded "S" word on to the airwaves?
