So today I went out to lunch with a couple of people that I used to work with. The company I used to work for sold the division that they work for to some European venture capital group that has since bought another company and placed our former division under that second purchased company.
Whew.
Anyway, we went to Willys for a burrito the size of my head that was awesome, but about four times too much food. I will either eat no more today or I will work out on my normal off day: Friday.
Either way, we came back to the office and since today is their moving day, the office is a disaster. It's mostly packed and torn down and no one's at work, so it's kind of like a construction site.
So I went with my old boss into his office, and that's when he tried to kiss me.
Okay I'm kidding. But those of you that know me and know Bill had to just gasp when you read that, didn't you?
Honestly, we went into his office to shoot the shit a little when he mentioned that he'd miss the view from his 2nd story window which overlooked the walkway into the building. It can be fun to spend 15 minutes ogling unknowing strangers.
About that time, I was messing with my key fob thingy, and noticed that my remote worked from his office to my car. So when someone got out of their car near my car, I set off the alarm, they snapped their head around to see what it was.
And we laughed.
So do you know what we did?
The same thing about fifteen more times, that's what. And we laughed every time. Bill even mentioned that this was probably how Candid Camera started.
The best one though was when Tony parked two cars away from mine and we'd gotten the timing on the alarm down pretty good, so that when he shut the door on his car, my car alarm went off.
He's a pretty high-strung guy, so it really got his attention, and that made us laugh harder.
But then, he apparently forgot something in his car. And when he opened his door again, I shut off the alarm.
More odd looks.
Then he closed the door again, and the alarm went off again. This led to him walking all the way around my car to figure out what was wrong.
Now Bill and I were howling, and when Tony came into the building we really started laughing.
See? It's not hard to have a good time if you would just think outside the box once in a while. Wanna see how I can pull my thumb in two?
